Can I use Edu on my own without a school?+
Yes. Independent educators, tutors, and homeschool teachers can sign up directly and run classes with no admin approval.
How do school districts get set up?+
A district admin signs up, creates schools, invites school admins and teachers, and everyone below inherits scoped access automatically.
Who can see student grades?+
Only the student, their guardians, their teachers, and admins at their own school or district. Row-level security enforces this at the database level.
Is student data private?+
Yes. Edu is built to FERPA principles: minimum-necessary access, audit logging on sensitive actions, and no third-party data sharing.
Is it really free for individual teachers?+
Yes, while we're in beta. District and school plans include SSO, provisioning support, and dedicated onboarding.
